What format are the photos in? All GotaStock.com photos are in JPG format.
Do you add photos on a regular basis? Yes. We add photos as they are taken. Click on "Newest Photos" to see the latest photos that we have posted.
Can I submit photos to sell? Right now the only photos that we sell are the ones taken by GotaStock.com and it's partners. In the future we may consider this.
Do you offer refunds? Once your purchase is made we can not offer a refund. The reason for this policy is because we offer full access to our entire digital collection of photos and, as such, there is no way for our products to be returned. On a rare occasion we will make exceptions on a case by case basis.
Are there any restrictions on my use of the GotaStock.com photos that I download? Yes. While GotaStock.com offers great freedoms and a wide ranges of uses, we do not allow the redistribution of our photos, or allow the use of our photos within products that are mass distributed in any type of archive format.
If I purchase a subscription are there any other fees I will encounter when downloading from the site? No, an unlimited membership allows you full access to download any photos on our site at no extra charge.
Is account sharing allowed? No, sharing an account is no different than distributing our materials to others. Individual accounts must be purchased by your friends and colleagues.
I bought a subscription, but it says I'm not activated, what do I do? On rare occasions our merchant processors may not send the information of your transaction to our system, so your account may not be automatically activated. Therefore, if you have made a purchase of our yearly subscription and you are not able to access photos GotaStock.com using your details, send a support request.

How long have you been around?
Can Stock Photo was officially launched on June 3, 2004. Since then, we
have seen continuous growth, and many upgrades. Like most two year olds,
we continue to grow every day.

How can I download photos?
You have a few options.
Firstly, you may purchase a subscription. You may purchase a one week subscription
for just $35.95. This gives you the ability download up to 70 images.
Or, you can also click on the instant download link and purchase the individual
photo for $2-$4.
Finally, you can also click on the instant download link and purchase "credits"
through our sister site, GotaStock.com. You can download photos for just
$1 each.
How much does it cost?
We have several purchasing options to choose from: Guest Download
- Also known as an Instant Download, is available to anyone with
no membership required. Download each image for Small: $2, Medium:
$3, Large: $4 Member Download - Available to members (membership
is free!). You purchase credits, which enable you to download photos for
Small: $1, Medium: $1.50, Large: $2 Subscription Download
- You may purchase a subscription, which allows you to download images on
demand. Depending on the volume and period that you chose, each download
can work out to as little as $0.10!
I’m a photographer – how can
I sell my photos
To sell your photos, you first have to sign up
as a member. Then just sign in and fill our our Photographer
Application. Once your application is approved, you may begin uploading
your photos!
What is a “lightbox”?
A lightbox is basically a place where you can store images that you are
interested in. Think of it as a shopping list. Maybe you want a list for
every client, or for every project. Members can make as many different lightboxes
as they like.
What does "exclusive" mean?
When an image is marked as being "exclusive", it signifies that
the image is only available though us. If a photographer certifies an image
to be exclusive, it guarantees buyers that you will never find the same
photo anywhere else.
What does the content filter do?
Our content filter is designed to filter out potentially offensive "R
rated" images. These may include nudity, violence, and other adult-related
themes. By activating this filter your searches should yield safe results
for children and office environments.
I want to customize the information returned
in search results, is this possible?
Yes, click on the “preferences” link under the “Advanced
Search” box. You may specify whether search results show the image
title, photographer, views/downloads, and image number.
Can I turn off the mouseover image, on the
search results?
Yes, click on the “preferences” link under the “Advanced
Search” box. Then just uncheck the mouseover box.
Can a photographer request a cashout before
$50?
As per our Membership Agreement,
our system does not allow for cashouts until your account reaches at
least $50 (for PayPal). The limit for Cheque or Moneybookers is $100.
However, you are always free to convert your earnings into credits.
I would like to close my account - how can
I do that?
You are free to close your account at any time. Please note that closing
your account is permanent, and will result in the loss of any accumulated
earnings, subscriptions, or credits. No refunds can be made.
If you are a photographer, you must first remove all online images. You
can do this from your My Portfolio section.
Once all images are removed, click on "My Account"
and then click on "Cancel Account".
Licensing
Can your images be used in my company brochure/catalog/flyer/website?
Yes!
Can I use your images in my ebook?
Yes!
I am a graphic designer; can I use your
images on my client’s website?
Yes!
Can I crop or edit your images?
Yes. As long as you do not re-sell or redistribute the image(s) or resulting
image(s).
I am making website temples, which will
be resold. Can I use your images?
Maybe.
Some of our images come with the option of purchasing an extended
license which allows templates - "Optional Templates/Resale". If you
purchase one of those licenses, you can use the images for resale in a
website template. Otherwise, our default license does not allow
templates.
Important Note: If you are hired to make a website for a client, then you may use
our images. The important distinction is that "boxed" / pre-made
templates are selling the site, whereas an individual job is selling the
service.
Can I resell or redistribute your images?
No. The resale and/or redistribution of our images is strictly prohibited.
I produce T-shirts/Screen savers/Mouse pads
for resale. Can I use your images?
Maybe.
Some of our images come with the option of purchasing an extended
license which allows limited resale - "Optional Templates/Resale". If
you purchase one of those licenses, you can use the images for limited
resale applications. Otherwise, the resale and/or redistribution of our
images is strictly prohibited.

Billing
What currency are these prices in?
All of our prices are listed in US currency. Your credit card will be
billed in US currency.
I don’t live in the United States
– can I still buy a subscription?
Yes, you certainly can. We accept payments from nearly every country in
the world. Your credit card will be billed in US dollars, and will then
be automatically converted to your own currency.
I live in Canada – why am I being
charged 13% tax?
We
are a Canadian company, so we are required to collect tax on all
Canadian orders. We are located in Nova Scotia, where there is HST tax,
which is 13%. Since our "product" is delivered instantly online,
Revenue Canada considers the sale to have taken place in the home
province (NS); therefore all Canadians are charged 13% tax. We don’t
like it any more than you do!
Subscriptions
Do the subscriptions automatically renew?
Yes, all subscriptions automatically renew themselves at the end of each
period. To stop them from automatically renewing, see the below question.
It says I have reached my daily download
limit, but I haven't downloaded anything today. Why?
Your download limit is actually based on a 24hour
clock, and not calendar days. So let's say your limit is 25 photos a day,
and you download 25 photos at 5:00pm today. Your limit would not open up
until 5:00pm tomorrow.
How do I stop my subscription from renewing?
If you purchased with PayPal, log into your PayPal account, select the
subscription, and click Cancel. For all other payment methods, go to your
“My Account”, and under Billing Information, uncheck the “Auto
Renew” box.
I currently have a subscription, but I would
like to upgrade to a different subscription. Is that possible?
You have two options:
1) Uncheck the Auto-Renew option, and let your current subscription expire.
Then purchase your upgraded package.
2) Contact Support, and we will make special arrangements for you.
